Christmas in Baltimore
It's the Holiday's again and this year there is so much to do in Baltimore.This will be my first year as a Baltimore resident an I'm even more excited since I will be living in the city. Keep reading for my list of the best things to do in Baltimore this holiday season.
Is there anything more Baltimore then the Christmas lights at 34th street in Hampden? This tradition of holiday lights and decorations on 34th street has been a Baltimore staple for decades! This year the festivities will begin on November 26 and run threw new years day. Make an evening out of it with dinner at The Food Market and Cocktails at Blue Bird before or after enjoying the lights. A few insider tips. Parking can be tricky but there is no need to pay, circle the near by blocks a time or 2 and you will find something. It dose get crowded especially on the weekends and the closer to Christmas it get's so if you want to avoid the crowds go early in the season, the week and the evening.
Christmas Village. This quaint German village pop up is a great way to spend an afternoon in the City. You can shop unique gifts while tasting some Delicious eats and drinks. The decor makes you feel like you are miles away from the city, yet you can still look out see the harbor. Christmas Village opens November 19 and remains open thru Dec 24th.
For those with kids or those who are kids at heart B&O railroad museum is doing Polar express train rides multiple dates starting November 25. Tickets are selling fast so don't wait! I have heard this is a truly magical experince for the little ones who love the movie.
The Monument Lighting in Mount Vernon is always the official start to the Holiday season in Baltimore. I'm super excited to check this out this year! It's in my new hood and I have am usually working on the the day of the even. This year I will be there with bells on. So if you see me be sure to say hi! This years even is December 1 from 5-8pm.
Zoo Lights. Grab the gang and head of to the Baltimore zoo for holiday magic all season. Tickets start at $30 and there are lots of fun theme nights this year including. Brrr fest ,a beer and wine festival and freaky Friday. Where adults dress like kids and kids dress like adults.
For the bougie crowd Winter Village is back at the Four Seasons Hotel!This dreamy Holiday experince comes complete with water views, bonfires, s'mores, ice skating and hot chocolate! This would be the perfect romantic date night or a girls night out! Grab reservations here.
Center Plaza Candy Lane. I missed this one last year but can not wait to check it out this December. This Candy wonderland run's for 2 weeks starting December 3-16th. Each of the 14 day's has fun event with things like Trivia night ,paws claws and white claws, drag bingo and more. The fun concludes on December 16 with a ticketed 21 and over dance party.
Sagamore Spirit Tree lighting. Saturday December 3 . This free event will be full of music, Whiskey and holiday spirit. The fun starts at 5pm with the official tree lighting at 7pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a fun evening, You can even bring a fury friend
Looking for something a little more old school? Did you know you can take a Trolley Tour of Baltimore? Thanks to Holly Jolly Trolley tour you can do just that. This 90 minute tour will take you around the city including Fells Point. Hampdem and more.
Miracle pop up at Power Plant Live. Grab your friends and best ugly Christmas sweater and head over to this Christmas themed pop up bar complete with specialty cocktails and funky mugs to drink out of.If this dose not get you in the Holiday spirit nothing will!
If a parade is what you are looking for look no further then the Mayor's Christmas Parade. This year Parade will be on Sunday December 4th at 1pm
One of my favorite things to do anytime of year in Baltimore is attend a concert at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. This year they have several great holiday shows including A Cirque Holiday Soiree, Home Alone in Concert and the Holiday Spectacular. Check out the schedule here. If you have not been to the BSO I can not recommend it enough!
